Danville offers a variety of extra-curricular clubs during the school day. We do this in order to avoid transportation issues and avoid conflict with sports, jobs or other home commitments. Marching Band and Chorus are also offered as courses during the school day.
Our offerings depend a great deal on student interest. Clubs such as Knitting and Book Club have grown out of student request.
During the 2017-2017 school year we offer:
Chess Club Drama Club Knitting Club
Book Club Lego Mindstorm Robotics
Student Council Yearbook and Photo Club
Jazz Band Coding Club World War II Strategy
3D Model Building Future Farmers of America
Other seasonal mini-courses currently offered during Club and Tutorial time include:
The Presidential Election
Mycology: Collection, Cultivation and Classification of Fungi
Physics of Sports
In the past, we have also offered:
Scientific Illustration Ultimate Frisbee

Danville has a long and proud tradition of no-cut, successful sports teams.
During the Spring 2016 season, our Girl’s Softball Team were the Division IV State Champions, and our Boy’s Baseball Team were the Division IV State Championship Runners Up! In addition, our Co-Ed Club Lacrosse team had an undefeated season against other teams across all divisions.
Girl’s and Boy’s Soccer
Girl’s and Boy’s Basketball
Additionally, if we do not have a team here, such as football, the VPA allows a student to join the team at another school in the area.
Students can also play an individual sport (cross country, wrestling) independently with the option to train with another area school.
We currently have students playing ice hockey, track and cross country with other schools per these agreements.
Our Athletic Director is Randy Rathburn. Our new Athletics Page can be accessed by clicking here.
