Kerin is in her third year as the PK-12 Principal at Danville. She has a BA in Medieval Studies from Brown University in Rhode Island, a Master’s in Elementary Education from Mercy College in New York, and a Masters of Science in Educational Leadership from Baruch College in New York. Previous, Kerin was a middle school math teacher and assistant principal in New York City for 11 years. Kerin loves to travel, read, and take long walks down the dirt roads of Vermont.

Janice has been at Danville School for over 10 years as an Administrative Assistant. Both her children Brittany and Richie have graduated from Danville and now her granddaughter Mackenna attends Pre-School. She has her associates degree through CCV and now is attending Johnson State to finish her bachelors degree. Janice enjoys walking, hiking, and spending time with her grandchildren and nieces and nephew.

Bobbie is in her third year at Danville School and her tenth year in education. She has a BA from Johnson State College in Elementary Education. She has previously taught grades K-6 and worked in high school Special Education. She is passionate about teaching Kindergarten and igniting a love of learning in our youngest students. She is also a Danville Community member with a daughter who attends Danville School. Bobbie is a huge Disney fan and enjoys taking trips there with her family.

Peggy has been a teacher of young children since 1991. She earned an Early Childhood Education degree from Champlain College, an Elementary Education degree from Lyndon State College, and a Master’s of Education degree from Southern New Hampshire University. She is a life long learner and continues to take courses and workshops to keep current in best practices for educating young children.

2nd Grade

Steve is in his ninth year teaching at Danville School. He has his BA in Elementary Education from Johnson State College. He has taught grades 2, 3, and 4 over this time. He lives in Walden with his wonderful wife of 34 years and together they have raised two really cool sons. In his spare time Steve likes to hike, whitewater canoe, listen to music, and ride motorcycles

Christine Rapoza has her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. She has her Master’s degree from Lyndon State College in Teaching Science. Christine has taught grades 1-7 and has enjoyed teaching every grade level. She enjoys being outdoors in Vermont while biking, hiking and visiting many of Vermont’s wonderful places like the rock quarries, mountains and rivers. She has enjoyed exploring Vermont with her family and friends.

4th Grade

Kelly has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Vermont. She also has a Master’s degree in Education from Southern New Hampshire University. She began her teaching career at the North Danville School many years ago. She lives in Walden with her husband and two children when they are home from college.

6th Grade

Sarah graduated from Bridgewater State College in 2003 with a BS in History, Elementary Education and a minor in photography. She has worked in the field of education for thirteen years, eleven of which have been spent here at Danville. She has worn many hats such as High School Math Teacher, Title One Specialist, 5th – 8th Teacher, and Coach. She is currently one half, of a fabulous team, Nick DeCaro being the other, tag teaming the sixth grade teaching Math and Earth Science. She loves to spend any of her free time not at the ice arena, outdoors with her family camping and hiking.

6th Grade

Nick is in his sixth year at Danville School. He teaches sixth grade (ELA & Global Citizenship) with his awesome teammate, Sarah Boucher (Math & Science). He is a 2010 graduate of the University of Vermont with a B.S. in Elemnetary Education. He loves to coach and pass on his passion for sports to the students of Danville. He is the current coach of the varsity baseball team, middle school girls basketball team and middle school soccer teams. When not at school, he enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and daughter.

7th & 8th Math/Science

This is Stan Zajko’s ninth year of exploring the fascinating worlds of math & science together with his MS students at Danville School. He received his BS in Physics from Concordia University in Montreal, and has also studied at the University of Virginia, and Goddard College in Plainfield, VT. He thrives on the rejuvenating power of the outdoors and enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids on hiking trails, waterways, and bike paths. He also has an interest in robotics and chess.

7th-12th Social Studies

Amy Richard has been in the field of education for 19 years. She graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington in 1998 and for the first 32 years of her life, lived in Maine. She lived in Africa and taught school there for a short time and refers to it as life changing. In her spare time she loves to read, travel and spend time with her daughter, Isabelle, her partner, Troy and her Golden Retriever, Loopy.

7th-12th English

Isaac Demers has been an educator in the state of Vermont for the past 15 years. He graduated from the University of Vermont in 2001 and is certified to teach both language arts and global citizenship. In his spare time he enjoys writing short stories, playing volleyball, and spending time with his family.

High School Global Citizenship

Emma has been teaching here at Danville since 2013. She loves working in a small school where the teachers and community wrap around kids to support them through all that they do. She is a native Vermonter, and feels very fortunate to be teaching Vermont’s children. She earned BA in Political Science from the Evergreen State College in Washington State and a MA in Education from Union Institute and University here in Vermont. She pursued a career in education a little later in life than is typical. Having explored many potential ambitions, she brings a wealth of life experience to her role as educator. Outside of school, she spends as much time as possible having fun with her two young children, travelling and enjoying Vermont.

High School Science

Luke has been teaching science and mathematics for the past 16 years on the Oregon Coast. Physics, Chemistry, Integrated Sciences, and Biological Engineering are courses he will teach this year. Luke enjoys alpine skiing, racing bicycles in the mud, and fly fishing.

High School Science

Stacy received her doctoral degree in 2003 from the Department of Integrative Biology at the University of Texas at Austin and then conducted post-doctoral work at the Bigelow Marine Laboratory in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. She has been teaching high school science at Danville since 2013. In addition to science, Stacy loves exploring the outdoors in any season and playing with her two children.

High School Math

Jason Brigham graduated from Plymouth State College (’96) with a BS Mathematics Education Degree. He has spent the past 21 years teaching high school math in NH, MT, and VT. This is his 6th year at Danville. He has coached both basketball and baseball at every level from rec. league to varsity and is currently the Danville Boys Varsity Basketball coach. Outside of school, you are likely to find him fishing on some waterbody or at home with his family and dogs.

High School Math

Spencer Morse graduated from St. Michael’s College (’92) with a B.S. in Mathematics. He taught Math, Science and Literature in the state prison system from 1992 to 1994. In 1994 he first started his public school teaching career at Danville Public School. He left Danville School in 2002 to teach math at Blue Mountain Union School. While at BMU, Mr. Morse earned his M.S. in Civil Engineering in 2006. He then left BMU in 2014 to return to teach in the town he loves – Danville, where he continues to teach math and co-coach Girl’s Varsity Soccer with his best friend Guy Pearce. You can often find Mr. Morse and his wife, Lauren around town at one of the many sporting events cheering on their daughters or at any of the many community events.

This is Joy’s 31st year teaching in Vermont. She earned a BA in French from Oberlin College in Ohio and obtained her teacher certification through the University of New Hampshire. Joy loves traveling, learning languages (French, Spanish, and Mandarin), gardening, knitting, and spending time outdoors with her family.

Library Media Specialist

Kristen earned a BA in Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Lesley University. She also holds a certificate in School Library Media Studies from UVM’s Graduate School of Education. She loves school library work because it combines many of her favorite interests: reading, researching, teaching, kids, and keeping things organized! Kristen’s other interests include Nordic and alpine skiing and exploring the backroads of the Northeast Kingdom on her bicycle.

Technical Education

Maxfield is in his fifth year at Danville. He has a BA in Elementary Education and a BA in Studio Art, both from Johnson State. He has nearly completed a BS in Environmental Science, also at Johnson State. He just started coaching the middle school cross-country running team. He serves on, chairs and vice-chairs seven boards and committees in his town and Regional Planning Commission. While not in school, he can be found adventuring with his four-year-old son.

Lian Brehm has been teaching Visual Art at Danville School since 1993. She has been in the arts education field for 38 years and has taught at Brown University and CCV. She holds a BFA degree from NY State College of Ceramics at Alfred University, a MFA degree from RI School of Design and a Ceramic Honors Program Certificate from Wolverhampton Polytechnic in England. She is a practicing and exhibiting studio artist. Lian spends most of her non-teaching time in her home studio or traveling the world in pursuit of life long learning.

Visual Art 7th-12th

Abigail has been teaching visual art in Vermont for 9 years. She graduated from Johnson State College in 2008 and is currently working towards a Masters of Fine Art. Abigail creates art at every opportunity, enjoys snowboarding, reading and spending time outdoors with her family and dogs.

Marching Band, Music & Chorus 7th-12th

Emily is in her third year as the middle and high school music teacher at Danville School. She earned her B.M. degree in Music Education and Music Performance from SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music. She has performed as second flutist in three professional ensembles: Orchestra of Northern New York, Burlington Chamber Orchestra, and Northern Symphonic Winds. She also serves as the organist for the Danville Congregational Church. Emily enjoys snowshoeing, kayaking, gardening, and exploring with her dog, Bear

Kevin has been teaching for 20 years. He graduated with an MA in elementary ed from Johnson State College in 1996, and has been Danville’s elementary music teacher since 2013. In addition to playing upright bass in a local original band and an occasional jazz trio, he also plays saxophone with the Summertime Marching Band in Monroe, NH. He enjoys gardening, canoeing, and all things musical, mechanical, and mathematical.

Pathways Coordinator

Rachel became the Pathways Coordinator at Danville School in 2016. Prior to coming to Danville, Rachel taught in a variety of classroom settings and worked in college admissions. She has Master of Arts in Education, a Master of Arts in Individualized Studies, and a BA in Writing and Literature. Rachel holds a teaching license in Secondary English and has recently completed additional graduate work in Early Adolescent Studies and Social Studies Education. Rachel considers learning along with students to be the greatest benefit of teaching.

School Counselor K-6th

Pam is in her in her 3rd year as the school’s elementary guidance counselor. Before becoming a school guidance counselor she was in elementary education for 14 years. During that time she taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. Pam received 2 Bachelor degrees from Johnson State College, one in Elementary Education and one in Anthropology and Sociology. Pam also received her Masters Degree in Counseling at Johnson State College. Pam enjoys being outside as much as possible. She has always had a passion for hiking and recently finished hiking the Long Trail.

School Counselor 6th-12th

This is Simon’s fifth year at Danville School. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Xavier University and spent time working in the fields of adult and juvenile corrections before beginning his career in education. He earned his Masters in School Counseling from Johnson State College 2009. He enjoys camping, sailing and fishing in his free time.

Randy is in his first year as Athletic Director at Danville. Randy graduated from Lyndon State College with a B.A. in Sports Management and an A.A. in Small Business and Entrepreneurship. Randy lives in Danville with his wife Jeniane and two daughters Molly and Sydney. In his free time Randy likes to hike in the White Mountains, run, cheer on the New York Yankees and listen to his favorite band, Pearl Jam.

Physical Ed. & Health

Guy is in his 24th year as a Physical/Health Teacher at Danville School. He has been fortunate to spend his entire career here in Danville. Guy graduated from Plymouth State College with a B.S. Degree in Physical Education. He enjoys co-coaching the High School Girls Varsity Soccer Team with his best friend Spencer Morse, another teacher here at Danville School. Outside of school he enjoys spending time with his family, his wife Paula and daughters Katelin, Emily and Grace. He is also an avid sports fan and closely follows his favorite teams. Lets Go Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins!

Stephen has been teaching at Danville for 16 years. He graduated from Gordon College and taught in Massachusetts for 14 years. Steve inspires students as young as three to learn coordination, cooperation, movement and sportsmanship. He is currently building a ground level ropes course to enhance middle school PE programming.

Heidi is a Speech-Language Pathologist in her second year at Danville. She holds a Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders from SUNY New Paltz and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology/Anthropology from Middlebury College. She grew up in rural Central New York State and is thrilled to be back in Vermont, hiking, biking, reading, and playing music.

Christy graduated in 2002 with her BS in Human Services/Psychology from Lyndon State College. Christy continued her education in Communication Sciences at UVM and received her certificate as a Speech-Language Assistant in 2005. Christy has been in this field of work for 12 years and working for CCSU for the past 4 years. When not at work, Christy’s time is spent cheering on her two oldest daughters at their athletic events as well as caring for her new infant daughter. When time allows, she also enjoys jogging, listening to music,baking and playing disc golf with her husband.

Vanessa Vincent grew up in Vermont. She completed her BS and MA at the University of Vermont. Vanessa spends her summers with her husband, four year old son, and two year old daughter fixing up the family property, traveling, and taking photos.

Emily is a proud Danville School graduate with a BA from Saint Michael’s College and a MA from the Unitversity of Vermont. She has been teaching in Vermont for the past 15 years and math continutes to be her favorite subject! She enjoys reading, kayaking, walking, and spending time with her friends

Liz Lawson is a first year special educator! She is from Lyndonville and received her teaching degree from Johnson State College. Liz is currently working on her Master’s Degree from Castleton State College. She has been working in the field of education as a teacher, Behavior Interventionist, and an Instructional Assistant for 9 years! Liz is also an artist and incorporates the arts in many of her student’s assignments!

Fawn, a graduate of Danville School has been a nurse for 21 years, with the last 4 here at Danville.. She received her Backelor’s of Science in nursing at Salve Regina University and has recently completed her Master’s of Science in nursing from Southern New Hampshire University. In her free time she enjoys biking, supporting her children’s sports and hanging out with her family.

Transportation Coordinator

Denise has been employed at Danville School since 1998. She started driving a route bus and substitute teaching, becoming Transportation Coordinator in 2005. She attended Danville School from Kindergarten through 12th grade. After graduating from High School, Denise worked on Long Island before returning to further her education at Lyndon State College, where she majored in Psychology. She then spread her wings and spent a couple of years in California before returning to Danville. She was married in the Summer of 1989, and her beautiful daughter, Kalyn joined the family in 1995. In addition to coordinating the busing at the school, Denise is a Realtor at Begin Realty, and co-owns a vacation rental with her sister. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, swimming, horseback riding and spending time with her family.
